Antique Copper Window Mirror
A hammered and welded copper framed mirror, originally installed in the Willard Asylum for the Chronically Insane, Ovid, New York State. One of the most notorious institutions in the United States, it was home to thousands of patients between 1869 and 1995, many of whom never left.
As a protected site only occasionally opened for tourists, it is unusual for such items to appear for sale. The copper has oxidised to a soft emerald hue, from decades of exposure to the damp Lake Seneca air.
