Egbert Vintage Elm Sideboard
A deep, low elm sideboard of around 130 years old, four doors in two pairs under a thick plank top that overhangs the cabinet at either end. The top is the best of it, carefully cleaned back and refinished to a beautifully textured surface with the grain standing proud, in a soft grey brown that runs through the whole piece.
Each cupboard has a removable shelf, so you can take it out where something taller needs to go in. The handles are slim iron drops rather than rings, dark against the grey elm.
At 56cm it is deeper than most sideboards, so the cupboards are generous, and at 83cm it sits at a height that suits a sitting room as well as a dining room.
