Two coats of old paint have survived on this one. The chalky grey across the doors has worn thin and shows a green underneath, and the frame has been cleaned back to bare elm, a generous pale border around the colour of a century and a half of use.

Six doors open in pairs onto three cupboards, each with a removable shelf across the middle, and the handles are plain iron rings. At 93cm high and 44cm deep it sits tight against a hallway wall and still gives a proper surface to work on.

That top is panelled, elm boards framed into a surround and running the full length, a lovely place for lamps and serving dishes.

Care Instructions

Dust only, with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not scrub or use cleaning products. The worn areas are part of the piece and will lift if treated.
