The top here is thick, rough sawn fruitwood, the grain standing proud of the surface and dark knots sitting beautifully against the pale boards. Splits run in from the edge in two or three places.

It came out of a mill, where this circle of boards was the bed a grinding stone worked on, and a century and a half of that has left the face rippled and dished rather than flat. Nothing has been filled or sanded back since.

That makes it a forgiving surface, so you can put a tray down without thinking twice about it. The table is 123cm across and stands on four squared legs braced low with stretchers.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
