The top of our Marcus reclaimed console table started out as an old console sourced in China's Henan region, and we have given it a second life by adding a lower shelf cut from old elm to match. The result is a long, slim reclaimed elm console table with the weathered grey colour and characterful marks of timber that has already seen plenty of years, paired with the practical storage of that extra shelf below. It is a rustic, unfussy piece — equally at home behind a sofa, along a hallway or under a window with a row of books and a lamp.
