The round top on this one was a mill base, the circular bed that a grinding stone sat and turned on. The dishing across the face, the wear in the boards and the iron studs set round the rim are all left over from its past life.

The fruitwood has faded to a lovely pale honey, dry to the touch, with old splits and gouges left in the surface rather than filled.

It stands on four squared legs braced with stretchers, low and sturdy. At 113cm across it is generous for a coffee table, and at 43cm high it sits level with the seat of most sofas.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
