Every sheepskin is a natural skin, so no two are quite the same shape or size. That's a large part of their charm. The sizes below are typical ranges.
| Size | Typical size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Single | about 95 to 100cm long x 60 to 65cm wide | a chair seat and back, a bedside, a stool |
| Double | about 190 to 200cm long x 60 to 65cm wide | a bench, the end of a bed, a sofa, the floor |
A double is two skins sewn together end to end, so it's about twice the length of a single.
Ours are long wool sheepskins, with a deeper, softer pile than most.
How we measure: length at the longest point, width at the widest point.
What fits where
- Over a chair: a single covers the seat and back of most armchairs and dining chairs, and instantly makes them the warmest seat in the room.
- By the bed: a single makes a soft first step in the morning; a double runs along the side of a larger bed.
- On a bench: a double suits most benches, and looks particularly good on old elm. See our stools and benches.
- On the floor: a double works well in front of a fire or under a small coffee table.
We stock single and double sheepskins. If you'd like to see them in person, or need help choosing, visit us in Moreton-in-Marsh or call 01608 670600.
