Antique Pitch Fork

  • £145.00

Hand-cut from a single length of elm, this antique pitch fork once gathered straw on a farm in China's Henan province, and around eighty years of honest work have left it worn smooth and softly silvered. The long shaft rises to a cluster of tines shaped entirely by hand, each one slightly different, with the gentle warp and grain that only old timber carries. We love it leaned in a corner as a piece of rustic sculpture, a genuine piece of agricultural history rather than a reproduction.
