A low table cut from a single section of elm trunk, the top a slice straight across it with the growth rings running out to the edge, and the legs shaped from the same block beneath. This one is carved rather than built, which is why the grain runs up each leg the way the tree grew. The surface has been bleached and finished to a pale, dry, chalky texture that is lovely to run a hand over.

At 41cm high it makes a low coffee table with real presence, and at around 80kg it is a piece to choose a spot for and leave there. Beside a sofa or an armchair it works just as well as a generous side table.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
