The grain has darkened and softened with age, the doors close with the slight give of long use, and there is a quiet, lived-in charm to the whole thing that no new piece can fake. It is a genuinely old vintage elm sideboard at a friendly, useful size — a rustic English country piece for a hallway, a small dining room or a kitchen wall, with room inside for linens, crockery or the everyday clutter that needs a home.
