A long dining table in reclaimed elm on a sturdy base: square legs with angled braces up into the top at either end, and a stretcher joining the two ends along the floor. The legs sit well in from the corners, leaving the ends clear for a chair.

Two boards make up the top, parted by a slim gap down the middle, and fine splits run with the grain along both. Those opened long before the boards were cut for a table, while the timber was still holding up a building.

The elm is pale and unsealed, so the grain sits proud under the hand. At 250cm the table will seat eight comfortably and ten at a push, with generous room to spare down the middle for dishes.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
