A vintage elm sideboard with a pair of doors at one end, a single door beside them and two drawers at the other. The pair opens onto a wide cupboard and the single door onto a second, each with a removable shelf, so you can keep the everyday china to hand and the awkward things below.

The elm is pale and dry to the touch, with no polish or wax on it at all, and the pulls are simple iron rings. Its 120 years show in edges worn soft and in a few old marks across the top, which is most of the charm of the piece.

The top is framed and panelled with a mitred border round the edge, handsome work for a piece of this sort, and at 220cm there is a generous run of it.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
