There is something lovely about a console that has already had a life before yours. The Harriet is built from reclaimed elm, timber salvaged from old farm buildings and given a second run as something rather more elegant. The grain shifts from piece to piece, the surface carries the odd knot and shake, and the whole thing has that soft bleached patina you simply cannot fake with a new board.

Three deep drawers sit beneath the top, each with an aged iron ring pull that falls flat against the front when you are not using it. Straight legs, a low stretcher for stability, and a generous top that takes a lamp and a stack of books with room to spare. It is slim enough for a hallway but handsome enough to earn a wall in a sitting room, and it looks particularly good with a stool tucked alongside and something dark and seasonal in a vase.

Every piece is unique. Colour, grain and small imperfections will vary, which is rather the point.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
