The top has been stripped back to bare elm while the body below has kept its old paint, so a handsome panelled surface sits above three bays of chalky grey doors.

That paint is mottled and worn right through in patches, with a darker blue surviving along the top edge and down the frame. Six doors open in pairs along the 227cm front, and each of the three cupboards has a shelf across the middle.

It stands 95cm high and has three removable shelves, leaving generous room under each shelf for tall jugs and decanters. The handles are small iron rings, dark against the pale grey.

Dust only, with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not scrub or use cleaning products. The worn areas are part of the piece and will lift if treated.
