Cut straight across the trunk, the top is a single thick section of old oak with the growth rings turning out from an off centre heart. Drying has crazed the face with fine splits, and a couple of iron cramps sit across the widest of them to hold them closed.

The oak has weathered to a soft greyish brown, and the four short legs are cut heavy enough to carry it without looking spindly. It is a beautiful, low table at 38cm, which suits a single armchair as much as a sofa.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
