A console table in reclaimed elm on a sculptural base: two thick slabs set at an angle to meet in a V on a low plinth. The plank top runs out past the base at both ends, with the grain of the old elm showing beautifully across it.

We like how simple it is, with no drawers and nothing to distract from the timber, and the top left plain for styling. At 35cm deep it will sit in a narrow hallway or behind a sofa. Each console in this listing varies a little, as the boards do.

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
