The top of this one is an old elm door, laid flat and given a new base. The rows of iron studs across the boards and the strap plate at the edge are the door's own fittings rather than decoration added later.

The elm has bleached to a soft silvery grey, the boards still reading one by one across the width, with the joints open where they have shrunk back, giving this piece plenty of character.

Underneath is a tastefully plain welded frame in dark steel, thin in section and open on all four sides. At 96cm deep the top is generously wide for a coffee table, filling a large living room floor perfectly.

Care Instructions

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners, which will mark the surface. Keep away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and expect a little movement in very dry rooms.
