French Confit Pot VII

  • £235.00

This French confit pot, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, originates from the South-West of France, particularly the Gascony region. Crafted from terracotta and finished with a distinctive mustard-yellow glaze, these vessels were traditionally used to preserve duck and goose confit. The glazed upper section helped protect the contents from moisture, while the unglazed base allowed the pot to be buried in the cool earth for storage.

Today, its rustic patina and rich golden tones make it a highly decorative piece, full of provincial charm and history. Whether displayed in a kitchen, on a sideboard, or styled with fresh greenery, this confit pot brings authentic French farmhouse character to any interior.
